Before Alej had a cozy stomping ground, he started with just a big, quiet adventure.
Once upon a time, in the middle of a wide, sun-warmed dirt field, sat a very small, very scruffy plush elephant. His velvety ears were full of dust, weeds were growing out of him, keeping him bound, and his little trunk wondered where on earth he belonged.
He waited under the desert sky, hoping someone would notice that even a lost little elephant had a whole lot of love to give.
Then, warm eyes spotted him through the dust.
Warm hands scooped him up, pulled him out of the weeds so desperately clinging to him, brushed the desert sand from his soft gray stitches, and whispered, “There you are. You’re coming home.”
He wasn’t lost anymore. He was named Alejandro—the little elephant who knew firsthand that even when life feels scruffy, messy, or upside down, love has a way of finding you right where you are.
